DESCRIPTION: ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM SATURDAY TO MIDNIGHT MDT SATURDAY NIGHT FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 295 BELOW 8500 FEET... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 295 BELOW 8500 FEET... The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Fire Weather Watch below 8500 feet for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 295 Southwest Colorado Upper East Forecast Area below 8500 feet. * TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, from 9 AM this morning to midnight MDT tonight. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 9 AM Saturday to midnight MDT Saturday night. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening. * WINDS...Southwest 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 35 to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...8 to 13 percent. * IMPACTS...Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning.

Evaporation is the transformation of liquid into gas, and it happens because
molecules are excited by the application of energy and turn into vapor.
In order for water to evaporate it has to be on the surface of a body of water.

A fractus cloud (scud) is a fragmented, tattered cloud which has
likely been sheared off of another cloud. They are accessory clouds, meaning they
develop from parent clouds, and are named in a way which describes the original
cloud which contained them.
Fractus clouds which have originated from cumulus clouds are referred to as
cumulus fractus, while fractus clouds which have originated from stratus clouds
are referred to as stratus fractus. Under certain conditions a fractus cloud might
merge with another cloud, or develop into a cumulus cloud, but usually a
fractus cloud seen by itself will dissipate rapidly.
They are often observed on the leading and trailing edges of storm clouds,
and are a display of wind activity.
