DESCRIPTION: ...Elevated to near critical fire weather danger on Thursday... ...A dramatic directional shift of the winds with a cold front passage Thursday afternoon... * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 061 Hamilton, Fire Weather Zone 062 Kearny, Fire Weather Zone 063 Finney, Fire Weather Zone 074 Stanton, Fire Weather Zone 075 Grant, Fire Weather Zone 076 Haskell, Fire Weather Zone 077 Gray, Fire Weather Zone 078 Ford, Fire Weather Zone 084 Morton, Fire Weather Zone 085 Stevens, Fire Weather Zone 086 Seward, Fire Weather Zone 087 Meade, Fire Weather Zone 088 Clark, Fire Weather Zone 089 Comanche and Fire Weather Zone 090 Barber. * TIMING...From Thursday morning through Thursday evening. * WINDS...Ahead of the cold front west to southwest winds at 15 to 25 mph. Behind the cold front northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 9 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Timing of the frontal passage is late afternoon and any fires that develop ahead of the front will quickly shift after the front passes.

The final form taken by a growing cumulus cloud is the
cumulonimbus cloud, which is very tall and dense.
The tower of a cumulonimbus cloud can soar 23 km into the atmosphere, although
most commonly they stop growing at an altitude of 6 km.
Even small cumulonimbus clouds appear very large in comparison to other cloud types.
They can signal the approach of stormy weather, such as thunderstorms or blizzards.

Drizzle is precipitation in the form of water droplets which are
smaller than raindrops.
Drizzle is characterized by fine, gently falling droplets and typically does not
impact human habitation in a negative way. The exception to this is freezing drizzle,
a condition where drizzle freezes immediately upon reaching earth's surface.
Freezing drizzle is still less dangerous than freezing rain, but can
potentially result in hazardous road conditions.
